How We See Ourselves:

Your hair-free head might be a source of embarrassment. Or it might be another place to show off your beauty.

Embracing all the features prone to shame. (if you missed Sarah’s post earlier this week … you’re welcome.)

With a little support (as Bev reminded us) maybe we can even Flourish.

Why can’t “Run like a girl” also mean “win the race?”

Pretty or pretty brilliant?

Sorry? Not sorry.

You don’t have to try.

No really, you don’t have to try.

Women Invent:

Develop an early stage HIV test in grade 10? Yes, yes you can do that.

Invent a means to filter tar sands toxins as a high school project? Of course!

How about solar powered lanterns for disaster relief? Yes.

High school project which led to the creation of a bomb detection system to make their communities safer? Yes!

Or a mom’s invention that allows little ones to walk with their families when their own bodies aren’t up for the challenge? Yes.

When the big companies recognize they’re losing out because more girls don’t code…they make a way.

Find and tell stories when you see women achieving remarkable things.

And lastly, for the knitters among us … never doubt that your needle skills might just be used to change lives in your community.
