SheLoves Circles

SheLoves Circles are sacred spaces. They represent equality, wholeness and sisterhood. They can be expanded to infinity without changing shape. If you want to walk in deeper connection with your SheLoves Sisters, we would like to extend an invitation to join a SheLoves Circle.

Most groups are made up of four to seven womxn. They function best when all members make a commitment to show up for each other. In this spirit, we do ask that if you sign up, you are committing to try and attend the Circle for the entire duration or for at least six months (whichever comes first).

If you have questions about SheLoves Circles, send us an email at [email protected].

** NEW ** Tuesday Circle (7 slots open)

Seven weeks from May 11 to June 22, 2021
Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (Pacific Time)

The theme of our Circle is Wholehearted Living. Creativity. Contemplative Journaling. Let us experience the profound healing and regenerative beauty through an integrated, wholehearted and creative living. Together we will explore and practice a different aspect of wholeheartedness each week, for 7 weeks, with creative mini projects and contemplative journaling. One of the resources we will be using is You Can Talk To God Like That by Abby Norman.

It took me some years to transition from a 17-year long career in media, marketing, community engagement and communications, to now investing most of my time mentoring and supporting women in their journey of restoring identity and purpose. I enjoy cycling, reading, listening to podcasts, movies that are based on true stories, nature walks, journaling, photography, spending quality time with my son and husband, and tending to the lovely plants of diverse character in my kitchen, while steeping my favourite tea. I will embark on a 2-year Spiritual Direction training this Fall, and feel led to step more fully into becoming an anam cara with whom I may cross paths.

Monday Circle (Currently full)

Year-round
Fourth Monday of each month, 9 a.m. (Eastern Time)

We are four women from four different decades, from up and down the East Coast, from Canada to Florida.  We’re all been “church going” since we were children BUT in the past few years have been working through some of the wreckage. We all love God but how we love Him has changed.  None of us are shy and we’re all opinionated and we say that to each other and laugh. But it’s so true.  No imposter syndrome needed. I usually email a topic or idea to the women a couple of days ahead to give us a chance to ponder.

headshot of sueAbout Sandy: I love women and interacting with them, especially from different generations and cultures. I love learning and listening to others as we continue to “grow up” in this crazy God world. My church background runs the gamut of traditional main line, Pentecostal , evangelical and now episcopal.  I love travel and reading (there’s always a stack on my nightstand and there must be a mystery), and cooking and grandchildren and good coffee. I have a BS in education but I never liked the classroom. One-on-one, small group, interactive are my favorites.

Thursday Circle – (2 slots open)

Year-round
First and Third Thursday of each month, 1-2 p.m. (Central Time)

Our Circle is a group of women who are curious about each other, our faith and our world. We center our discussions around books, reading a chapter or two per meeting, but we are open to the leading of the Spirit to talk about current events and topics that are on our heart. (Books we have read together include The Universal Christ by Richard Rohr, Defiant by Kelley Nikondeha and The Myth of the American Dream by DL Mayfield.)

lisa smith headshotAbout Lisa: Hello, I’m Lisa Schickert Smith. I gain energy being in groups of people who discuss ideas and try to answer the big questions. I honor diversity, curiosity, and flexibility.  Lately, I have been trying to focus on following the little nudges by the Spirit. I am a designer, mom of two and wife who lives in rural Illinois. I grew up Catholic, now attend the UMC Church my husband pastors, but I consider myself “denominational promiscuous” letting the Spirit lead me to what is true.

Saturday Circle (3 slots open)

Year-round
Second Saturday of each month, 10:15-11:15 p.m. (Pacific Time)

Our circle is a small, but mighty collection of women from Texas, California and British Columbia. We connect so that together, in sisterhood, we can grow into greater thriving as we explore what it means to live in step with Jesus, justice and greater wholeness. We seek to hold a safe and brave space, welcoming each other as we are and cheering each other on as we grow and become.

lisa headshotAbout Lisa: Lisa Scandrette lives in the Mission District of San Francisco with her husband Mark, where they raised three children to adulthood. She loves a slow cup of coffee in the morning, a good story, spinning wool into yarn and knitting it up, and going on adventures with Mark. She is passionate about caring for individuals and creating a more peaceful and just world. She facilitates workshops and provides administrative support for ReIMAGINE: A Center for Integral Christian Practice and is coauthor of BELONGING and BECOMING: Creating A Thriving Family Culture, and FREE: Spending Your Time and Money on What Matters Most.
